I am a recent colon cancer survivor and have other illnesses that only allow me to work from home. It is so hard to find a job when you have not worked in such a long time (12 years for me). Welcome to remote, part-time, freelance, and flexible Underwriting jobs!Underwriting professionals are essential to insurance companies; their job is to evaluate the risk and exposures of potential clients. The underwriting department decides how much coverage clients should receive and how much they should pay for it. Jobs in underwriting are available in all insurance lines including professional liability, worker's compensation, excess, retro, surplus, property insurance and business liability. Typically a four-year degree is required for underwriting jobs but in some instances excellent computer skills and insurance-related work experience may be enough. Successful underwriters enjoy analyzing information and paying attention to detail, they also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Most underwriting jobs are full-time, but part-time positions are being seen more often. Remote and flexible schedule underwriting jobs are also becoming increasingly popular.
