It probably comes as no surprise to most parents that many working moms do work to be able to contribute to the household finances. And although our economy is one in which both parents typically have to work, there are many moms who work because they want to, not because they have to. Below, we have 11 stats about why moms want to work, other than just earning a paycheck.
Outside of the obvious need for money and benefits, many moms find having a career as a rewarding life experience, especially if they’ve paid to attend college. And while finding and paying for child care is a common issue many families face, the ability to utilize flexible work allows for more moms (and dads!) to follow their career aspirations while also being an active and present parent.

Being a career-minded mom doesn’t necessarily mean that youwork outside the home; many career-minded women decide to stay home. And no matter the decision, it is the right one for that family.

As seen in these stats, many moms choose to work for reasons outside of a paycheck, including providing different opportunities for their families, finding balance in their responsibilities, and wanting to make a difference in a professional manner.
