Walter Rasmussen founded Rasmussen University in 1900 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Originally called the Rasmussen Practical School of Business, the school’s initial mission was to prepare accounting and secretarial students for business careers. Today, Rasmussen University offers classes across a range of subject areas both online and at one of its 23 campuses across Minnesota, Florida, Wisconsin, Nebraska, North Dakota, Illinois, and Kansas. With a total enrollment of more than 13,600 students, Rasmussen University provides over 70 academic and professional programs in areas such as business, technology, nursing, health sciences, design, and education.
