ODC is an arts and contemporary dance organization. The organization was founded by current artistic director Brenda Way in 1971. It was originally called the Oberlin Dance Collective and located at a college in Ohio. Several members of the group relocated to San Francisco, California in 1978, and brought the company with them. It went on to become the contemporary arts institution it is today. Since arriving in San Francisco, the company has been an integral part of the creative community.
ODC is home to a world-class dance company, dance training program of various levels, and a performance venue. The ODC Campus features studios, performance space, a conference room and community gathering space, and an art gallery and offers the Healthy Dancers' Clinic, as well as a Pilates center. ODC offers youth and teen programs, and a summer series for youth.
